- Adult learning principles that connect the participant’s prior knowledge, life experiences, and interest during instruction
- Analysis and selection of teaching methods appropriate to the target audience; including attention to diverse literacy levels, learning styles, and experiential levels.
- Training materials (i.e., handouts, PowerPoints, or flip charts) that are used as visual aids which enhance the learning experience and do not substitute for teaching. Materials should be easy-to-read and highlight the most important messages or needs.
